The spelling is incidental as the name is spelled several ways. Some in the family indicate that she was a Cherokee Indian, full or partial. Sylettie is buried in Marysville, Union Co. Ark. Their daughter married a MURRAY from Washington Co. Tenn and went to Benton Co. Ark. I've not seen anyone researching STANLEY. However, his grandson, Dr. Henry A. Simpson, of Greene Co., TN, in 1915, wrote on his father's death certificate that his grandfather's place of birth was TN. I have been told that Greene Co., TN was once Wilkes Co., NC. On 10-11-1831, Henry Simpson sold 75 acres to John Simpson, and the next day, he sold 50 acres more to John. Yet there was no record of him ever buying land. This land was traced back to John Simpson, who bought it in 1797 from William Galbreath. It was a NC Land Grant from 4-27-1795, and contained 400 acres. Was this John Henry's father? There was a John Simpson who married Mary Haresha in 1790 in Greene Co., TN. Were they Henry's parents?
